O. V. MESSINGER DIES FROM HEART ATTACK.

Death Claims Another Good Ringgold County Citizen
End Came Without Warning.

Death claimed another goodcitizen of Ringgold county Friday evening when Oley V. MESSINGER passed away at his home in Athens township. The end came suddenly and without warning. Mr. MESSINGER had been enjoying his usual health and had been engaged in husking corn during the day. After finishing his day's work he went to the house, ate a heartysupper and, as was his custom, read the daily paper. A few moments later, while he was resting on a cot, Mrs. MESSINGER noticed that he was breathing heavily and went to his side in the hope of arousing him, but before anything could be done life had passed out.

At the death of Mr. MESSINGER the community mourns. He was a man of sterling character and happy disposition and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances.

Funeral services were held Monday after noon at the Methodist church in Mount Ayr and were largely attended. The funeral sermom was preached by Rev. G. B. INGRAM, districk elder of the Free Methodist church. Rev. Jay KIRKENDALL and Mrs. Ingram assisted in the services. The singers were George S. ALLYN, Chas. F. ASHBY, Mrs. E. B. WALL and Mrs. Glen ROBINSON, who sang, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus,""Abide With Me" and "Rock of Ages." The pall bearers were old friends and neighbors - Charles MERRITT, George AXTELL, Frank SALTZMAN and Frank DAVENPORT. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].
