OBITUARY - MRS. KATE McWILLIAMS.

Sarah Catherine DALTON was born near Harpville, Ashland county, Ohio, on December 29, 1851, and died December 29, 1922, being exactly seventy-one years of age.

She moved with her parents to Henderson county just across the line from Warren county, Illinois in 1866. She was united in marriage to Thomas T. McWILLIAMS November 1st, 1868.

Six children came to the home, three of which passed away. Jennie Olive died in 1873 (sic), Flora Olive in 1881, Richard Roy (sic) in 1905. They moved to Ringgold county in 1872 and lived on a farm in Washington township until 1912, when Mr. McWILLIAMS was so poorly they moved to Mount Ayr to be near the doctor. He passed away on March 1st, 1913. Mrs. McWILLIAMS was converted and joined the Methodist church in 1873 was a member at Wishard Chapel before coming to Mount Ayr. She has three children living - Mrs. John BUCK and Harry, of Mount Ayr, and C. D., of Clay Center, Kan.; also twelve granchildren, three brothers, John DALTON, of Monmouth, George and Will of Smithshire, Illinois, and one sister, Mrs. Flora CORRELL, of Burlington, Iowa, besides other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Jay KIRKENDALL, and the body was laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].

We wish to express our sincere thanks and grateful appreciation to the many friends and neighbors who were so kind in the sickness and on the occasion of the death and funeral of our mother; also for the beautiful flowers and the lovely singing, the Rebekahs and the ladies of the G. A. R. These kind acts will never be forgotten.

NOTE: Thomas T. McWILLIAMS, husband of Sarah Catherine "Kate" (DALTON), was born on May 9, 1842, and died on March 1, 1913. Of their children, Jennie Olive died on January 10, 1882; Richard Ray was born on February 7, 1883, and died on March 5, 1905.
