OBITUARY.

McLAIN-Harriet DUCIS was born in Baltimore county, Md., Sept. 21st, 1820. At the age of 11, her parents moved to Ohio, where she resided until 1857, when she came with her family to Iowa. She was married in early life to Thos. McLAIN. There were born to them seven children, five of whom are still living. On coming to Iowa, they settled in Ringgold county, where they spent the remainder of their lives. Mr. McLAIN died May 22nd, 1858, one year after coming to Iowa. Mrs. McLAIN died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Archie McMULLEN, four miles north of Kellerton, May 10, 1887. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. E. E. WILLEY, at McMULLEN's residence. Mrs. McLAIN early professed faith in Christ, and united with the Methodist church.

NOTE: Harriet (DUCIS) and Thomas McLAIN were interred at Tedrow Cemetery near Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
