OBITUARY - MRS. McGREGOR.

Elizabeth SHOEMAKER McGREGOR was born in South Carolina June 24, 1840, and passed away at the home of Miss Mary FLETCHER in Tingley Saturday evening, January 3, 1931, at the ripe old age of 90 years, five months and ten days. The family migrated from South Carolina to Illinois in 1848, when she was about eight years of age and located at Cedar Creek, near Monmouth. She was the youngest of a family of four children, all of whom preceded her in death.

She was united in marriage to Jas. McGREGOR in 1862 at Monmouth, Ill. No children were born to this union, but a great niece, now Mrs. Nellie OWENS of Tina, Mo., when a small child, was taken into their home and remained there for some time. Later in life Mr. and Mrs. McGREGOR moved to Iowa and in 1909 moved to Tingley, where they resided at the time of their deaths. Mr. McGREGOR died June 5, 1913.

Mrs. McGREGOR was of a happy and cheerful disposition and made many friends, and especially was she loved by little children, who enjoyed being in her home and doing little errands of love for her.

She united with the church at an early age and was a faithful member of the United Presbyterian church until her death, being at church services the last Sabbath she spent on earth. She leaves a number of distant relatives and a host of friends to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the United Presbyterian church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. B. E. DOBBINS, and interment made in Tingley cemetery by the side of her husband.

NOTE: James H. McGREGOR, husband of Elizabeth (SHOEMAKER), was born on February 17, 1934.
