DEATH of MRS. WILLIAM McFARLAND.

After an illness of five weeks duration, Mrs. William McFARLAND, died at her home in Allerton Tuesday morning, November 1. She was 76 years [and 5 days] of age. All her children had visited her during her last illness and all were together at the home two weeks before her death. She retained her faculties of mind until the end and on the occasion of meeting of all the children she declared it was the happiest day of her life.

Mrs. McFARLAND's maiden name was Mary Jane REYNOLDS. She was the daughter of George and Arminta REYNOLDS, pioneer residents of Ringgold county, and the early years of her life were spent in this county. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. William McFARLAND; six daughters and two sons - Willis McFARLAND, Crystal Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Ada RHOADES, Mount Ayr, Iowa; Mrs. Minnie STILES, Earlham, Iowa; Mrs. Mary MORRISON, Lincoln, Neb.; Mrs. Emma ARNETT, Canton, Ill.; Mrs. Margaret MINOR, Aurora, Ill.; Clifford McFARLAND, Crystal Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Josephine WELCHER, Aurora, Ill.; four sisters - Mrs. Ellen McFARLAND, Mrs. Bud HALEY and Mrs. Herb DILLENBURG, Benton, Iowa; Mrs. Sam SHAFER, Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Noah REYNOLDS, Mount Ayr, Iowa and Harry REYNOLDS, SHannon City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at the Nazarine church in Allerton Thursday afternoon at 2:30 and the body will be brought to Benton where services will be held at the Methodist church Friday at 10:30 a. m. The services will be conducted by Rev. DODSON of Glenwood. Interment will be in the Benton cemetery.

NOTE: Rev. William T. McFARLAND, husband of Mary Jane (REYNOLDS), was born on July 29, 1853, and died February 2, 1935 with interment beside his wife at Benton Cemetery, Benton, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Mary Jane's sister, Ellen A. (REYNOLDS) McFARLAND was born in 1864, and died in 1939 with interment at Benton Cemetery.
