OBITUARY - GRANT McCULLOUGH.

Grant McCULLOUGH, son of William L. and Lizzie N. McCULLOUGH, was born near New Londan, Henry county, Iowa, September 14, 1868, and died on August 10, 1930, aged 61 years, 10 months and 26 days. He moved with his parents to Ringgold county in 1882, where he grew to manhood. Mr. McCULLOUGH was united in marriage to Mrs. Nora BENSCOTER on March 1, 1896, one son being born to this union, Guy McCULLOUGH, of Kellerton. Mr. McCULLOUGH united with the Evangelical church at Salem in about 1897. His wife passed away June 24, 1899. In 1908 he was married to Mrs. Eva HARRELL and to this union there was born one son, Kenneth P. McCULLOUGH of Kellerton. Mr. McCULLOUGH had been active in business in Kellerton for the past twenty-five years, having served a number of years as councilman and in various other offices, also being a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his loss, two sons, Guy McCULLOUGH of Kellerton, and Kenneth P. McCULLOUGH also of Kellerton; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie ALLEN of Garner, Iowa, and Mrs. Dollie NEWTON also of Garner, who is in California at this time; three brothers, Sam McCULLOUGH of Kellerton, his twin brother Sherman McCULLOUGH of Mount Ayr, and his aged brother Lee McCULLOUGH of St. Helena, Neb. Besides the immediate relatives he leaves to mourn a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon at two-thirty at the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. E. CLARK, and interment made in Mapel (sic) Row cemetery [Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa].

NOTE: Grant's parents, William L. McCULLOUGH (died at the age of 54 years, 11 days on October 15, 1885) and Eliza McCULLOUGH (died at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 21 days on December 20, 1905) were interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Iowa.

Elnora "Nora" (BENSCOTER), first wife of Grant McCULLOUGH, was born in 1871, and died June 24, 1899 with interment at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton. Guy LeRoy, son of Elnora "Nora" (BENSCOTER) and Grant McCULLOUGH, was born in 1898, and died in 1966 with interment at Maple Row Cemetery. Samuel E., Grant McCULLOUGH's brother, was born in 1866 and died in 1940 with interment at Maple Row Cemetery. Grant's twin brother, Sherman McCULLOUGH, was born in 1868, and died in 1936 with interment at Maple Row Cemetery.
