OBITUARY - VIVIAN ROSCOE MAUDLIN.

Vivian Roscoe MAUDLIN, son of Corwin and Maude MAUDLIN, was born in Ringgold county, Iowa, August 2, 1912, and departed this life December 9, 1925, age 13 years, four months and seven days. He was of a sunny disposition, always making the best of everything and met life with a smile. He became afflicted from a hurt caused while training for Children's exercises some years ago. He had been in the hospital at different times for treatment and always won the hearts of his doctors and nurses. He was called little sunshine maker. He was quite ambitious and had made up his work in school he had missed on account of sickness. He was converted and united with the Jackson A. C. church under the leadership of Brother R. B. SHANNON when nine years of age and lived a faithful life. He was fond of the Bible study and loved to have his grandmother read the Bible to him and would ask questions about it. Life has been made sweeter by his influence and short stay with us and when Jesus comes he shall spring into life with that same sweet smile we so much loved. We sorrow not as those that have no hope for we expect to meet him. The day he died he called his grandma and mother to his bedside to pray and he also prayed. His father preceded him in death ten years ago. He leaves to mourn his early departure, his mother, Mrs. Maude MAUDLIN, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Riley MOTSINGER, Mr. and Mrs. Warren MAUDLIN, and a host of other relatives and friends. Rev. RILEA spoke words of comfort and he was laid to rest at Hickory Grove.

NOTE: Maude M. (MOTSINGER) MAUDLIN, Vivian's mother, was born on December 6, 1890, and died in March of 1979. Vivian's father, Corwin A. MAUDLIN, was born in 1894, and died in 1915. They were interred at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
