OBITUARY - ELIZABETH HILL LORIMOR.

Mrs. Elizabeth HILL LORIMOR died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Etta A. NEWMAN in Mount Ayr, June 18, 1922, of heart failure. She was born near Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 17, 1839. She was the daughter of James D. HILL and Amanda McCREA HILL, both of sturdy Scotch descent. The family moved to Indiana, and then to Iowa, where she had lived the greater part of her life. On June 25, 1855, she was united in marriage to Milton LORIMOR at Pella, Iowa. They moved to Ringgold county soon after and made their home until 1894, when the family moved to Colorado. The husband died at Florence, Colo., March 14, 1902.

To Them were born four children, Mrs. Etta A. NEWMAN, of this city; Mrs. Mattie SHEPHERD, who died in 1890; Mrs. May E. JOHNSTON, of Bristol, Colo., and Mrs. Theodore LORIMOR, of Sterling, Kansas. As her own, she loved and claimed her three little step-daughters, Mrs. Kate GREGORY, Mrs. ALICE SOLES and Miranda LORIMOR. From them she has beenwell rewarded by their love and care in this, her later years. She was a woman of more than ordinary character, an earnest devoted christian all her life. She was a member of the U.P. church. Her influence for good was felt wherever she was placed. She was a good wife, a good christian. Her presence will be missed in her home and community.

She has left to mourn their loss her three daughtes (sic), Katherine, Etta and May, her three sons, F. B. SOLES, Theodore LORIMOR and Robert G. JOHNSTON, an only brother, David D. HILL, of Los Angeles, Cal., and a niece, Mrs. M. J. CLARK, of Sioux City, Iowa.

Mrs. LORIMOR was a charter member of the Mount Ayr United Presbyterian churhc.

The funeral was noticably a gathering of old settlers from all Ringgold county and elsewhere.
