DEATH of ASA B. LEWIS.

Died, at his home in Ringgold county, Iowa, April 2, 1895, Asa B. LEWIS, aged 78 years, 1 month and 17 days. He was born in Taylorville, Thurston county, New York, Feb. 16, 1817. His death was caused by contracting la grippe. Father LOUIS (sic) was converted at the age of 14 years, and united with the Presbyterian church, but like a great many young people he wandered away. At the age of thirty years he he (sic) was reclaimed, and united with the Methodist church. He was married to Miss Polly PHILLIPS on September 7, 1842. He moved to Sun Paw, Wis., in 1866, uniting with the Free Methodist church by letter in 1871, of which he has been an honored member since. He was the father of a family of six children, three sons and three daughters, the sons having died before his demise, two dying in this county - Warren and Charles Sumner. He leaves a wife and three daughters to mourn his loss, one daughter residing in California, the other living in Wisconsin, and one in this state. He was a kind husband, an affectionate father, and a good neighbor. The funeral was conducted by Rev. E. A. McKAY [with interment at Ringgold Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa].
