OBITUARY - RICHARD LAWRENCE, Sr.

Richard Leroy LAWRENCE Sr., 84, of Roseville, Calif., died Tuesday, December 23, 2003.

He was a former resident of Mt. Ayr and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Navy Electrician's Mate 3rd Class prior to and during World War II, former employee of the Department of Defense (Air Force) following discharge from the Navy, spent two years in Spain, three in England and two in Germany, was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the USS Tennessee (BB-43) Reunion Association and Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Con and Fairy Belle (RUSH) LAWRENCE and stepmother, Lizzie (SCHOEMACHER) LAWRENCE.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Laura Eileen (PRIVITT) LAWRENCE, a native of Lamar; two sons, Richard Jr. and nieces and nephews.
