Ida E. Dodge was born in LaSalle County, Ill., September 24, 1863 and passed away at the family home in Grinnell, Iowa, October 1, 1927. In 1865 she came with her parents to Malcom, Iowa where she resided until her marriage to Mr. William Harris in 1877. They established their home on a farm at Oak Grove. From the farm they moved to Grinnell where they have lived for twenty two years.

She was the mother of five children, all of whom survive her and were present with her during her illness. The children are Elbert and Harold of Grinnell, Dwight of Denver, Mrs. Ada Boelke of Pasadena, Cal., Mrs. Donna Schilling of Sigourney, Iowa. Besides the husband and children she leaves one sister, Mrs. Della Corrough of Grinnell and two brothers, Edward and Worth of California.

Mrs. Harris was a woman who was greatly beloved by her family and by all her friends and neighbors. She patiently endured her serious illness through several weeks. At the last she fell asleep and passed away in peace.

Funeral services were held at the home on Summer Street on Sunday afternoon conducted by the Rev. George Blagg. Burial was made in Hazelwood.
