THELMA KRIEGEL TURNER,
FORMER RESIDENT,
DIES IN KENTUCKY

Thelma Kriegel Turner, a former Poweshiek County resident, passed away suddenly at her home in Jackson, Ky., April 22.

Death was apparently the result of a heart attack. She had been ill since Thursday morning.

Mrs. Turner was born January 24, 1923, to Henry B. and Victorine Kriegel. She attended rural school in Poweshiek County.

On Feb. 27, 1945, she was married to George Turner. The couple had seven children.

Surviving are her husband George and her children--Faye, Rita, Louise, Kathy, Gary, Douglas and Joseph.

Also surviving are four brothers: Henry and Robert of Grinnell, Bernard of Harwick, and Larry, who is stationed in Thailand with the U.S. Air Force.

Surviving sisters include Rita Crawford, Nona Van Draska and *Loucile Heishman, all of Grinnell, and Margaret Hill of Fairfield, Calif.

Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Gabards Funeral Home in Jackson, Ky.
