Up to a year go, when he moved with his family to Grinnell, he continued in the active pastorate, without missing a Sunday on account of ill health. He served churches in Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania, and in 1909 was sent to Germany as an American delegate to the international conference of Moravian churches. He was at one time appointed one of a committee of three to revise the laws of his church.

In 1881 he was married to Miss Cecelia Bigler of Victor, and they have reared a large and exceptionally capable and worthy family. Mrs. Romig and nine children are living.
