DIED.

WORCESTER.--At his home in Grinnell, Dec. 29, 1882, Justus Worcester, aged 61 years, 5 months and 24 days. He had for several years been subject to what had been called sympathetic disease of the heart, and it was probably this, or rather genuine disease of the heart, that finally took him away. He had been in usual health, had only a few days before made a visit to Marshall County where he had previously lived. Friday he was about town attending to business. Saturday evening he did not feel like taking supper, but was still up and about. While the rest of the family was at supper he brought in a bucket of coal but did not put it in the stove. His children observed that he was suffering from one of his "spells" and assisted him to lie down. He became immediately unconscious and expired in about fifteen minutes. Mr. Worcester had been a resident of Grinnell for about eight years and of Iowa about twenty-five years. He was a native of Massachusetts. When he moved to Iowa he first came to Marshall County and engaged in farming. Originally he was a Congregationalist, but when he came West it seemed most convenient for him to unite with the Baptists. He retained his membership in that denomination to the time of his death. He was a genial man, much esteemed by his neighbors for his uniform courtesy and good nature,--a man of sound judgment and upright life. His death seems not to have taken him unawares. He had lived for years with the full knowledge that his summons would come suddenly. The last days of his life he had spent in visiting his friends and in settling up his business.
