GILHOUSEN, Capt. William Richard (1920-1944)

GILHOUSEN, GRAY, HARDIN, JAY

I am looking for any assistance anyone can offer to assist in my biographical research on Capt. "Bill" Gilhousen, from Des Moines, an Army pilot in WWII who was shot down, captured and died in a Japanese prison camp in Burma.

His parents were Lawrence and Della (HARDIN) GILHOUSEN, of Des Moines. He appears to have had only one sibling, a sister Betty GILHOUSEN (b. 1921). I do not know whether she ever married, or if she is still living.

I am extremely anxious to get in touch with any living relatives, or family friends. We want to put together as complete as possible a biography of this courageous American, and his sacrifice, while it is still possible, to preserve and and share it through our Family Association.

I would appreciate any leads, however small, anyone might have to share.

Thanks.
