During the 1930's, the Works Progress Administration recorded all the stones in the cemeteries where the two Deaton's are buried. The records are as follows:

Wicker Cemetery
Samantha Deaton
age 51y
died 14 April 1895

Stuart Cemetery
S. C. Deaton
born 28 February 1830
died 17 May 1907
