Birth record lookup please

Could some please lookup the birth of Nancy (Jane?)Melvina McGlothlen b. Polk County, 6 Aug 1850, possibly in Avon. Help much appreciated.
Am told There should be a Polk Co, IA birth
record in the county birth record books, which are most likely in the Polk and Warren county libraries and at the Iowa Genealogical Society Library in Des Moines, Polk Co, IA.
