My grandfather, Homer Bell, was on the "extra board" for the Rock Island Rail Road between Mitchellville, IA and Pella, IA. On his daughter's deathbed, she shared the reason he deserted his family was that he fathered a child outside his family. The child, gender unknown, was born sometime between late 1927 and early 1929. The child would be around 80 years old today. We are trying to piece this part of our family together. All parties on our end of the search are deceased.
