COWLES, LEE, RYAN

James Edward Cowles m. Rosa Lee 1869. James went to war, serving in the 4th Iowa Cav, Co G-4 and returned to Des Moines to work on the RR. He was killed on the RR 22 Jun 1870 leaving Rosa with a year old boy, James and leaving her pregnant with a girl, born after her father's death. James Junior was killed on the RR himself at age 21, so there is no info from him. Rosa married again, William Ryan. They left Iowa and went on to have more children in Nebraska, Kansas and MO. I believe I tracked them down to a Catholic Cemetery in Kansas City. I'd like to find out where they were married; both Rosa and William were Catholic. I believe James Cowles was not. I also cannot find young James, b. c 1869 & died on the RR 1890. Would love info on his burial which should be in a Des Moines cemetery. Thanks.
