Cynthia (Cindy) Jean Comegys, 61, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Sept. 5, 2011, after a short battle with cancer.

Visitation for Cindy will be at Davis Funeral Chapel on Thursday evening, Sept. 8, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 o'clock with an Order of the Eastern Service memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church on Spring Street on Friday, Sept. 9 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Nickolas Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Harrisburg Cemetery.

Cindy was born in Des Moines, Iowa, the second of four children, to Gerald John and LaVerla Maureen Comegys of Howard County, Missouri. Cindy enjoyed a long and distinguished career with the Boonslick Technical School and the Boonville High School as a computer science and business teacher. While at the Technical School she was a VICA advisor for many years and coached students and teams to many State championships. Cindy was also very active in the Order of the Eastern Star, holding many different state and local offices. Cindy was the largest supporter of her eight nieces and nephews, whether they were riding horses or participating in athletic events at their schools.

Cindy leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother and father, Garald and LaVerla Comegys, her two brothers, David Comegys and Daniel Comegys, and one sister, Rosalie Searfoss, eight nieces and nephews, and many other numerous friends and relatives.
