Ralph Tague departed this life last Tuesday, October 10, 1978, near Akron, Iowa. He was 51 years of age.
William Ralph Tague was born September 15, 1927, at Climbing Hill, Iowa. His parents were Reuben and Pearl Tague.
At a wedding service in Vermillion, S.D., he was united in marriage to Miss Corrine McCambridge. The wedding took place September 5, 1953.
They farmed in the Akron area for a number of years, and during the last twelve years he worked for the Akron Produce.
For a period he served his country in the United States Army. For unusually fine and meritorious service during the Korean Conflict he was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Tague was a warm, friendly person who made many, many friends in our community.
Among those who survive his departure are: his wife, Mrs. Corrine Tague; his mother, Mrs. Pearl Tague of Minneapolis, Minn.; his five sisters, Mrs. Virginia Meyers of Winfred, S.D., Mrs. Irma Haase of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Betty Stuart of Arkansas, Mrs. Dorothy Reams and Mrs. Mary Cain, both of Sioux City; his two brothers, Richard Tague and Clifford Tague, both of Sioux City, beside many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service in his memory was at the Schroeder Funeral home, Friday forenoon, October 13, 1978, with Pastor David J. Roy, officiating. Marie Degen accompanied Lloyd Helseth as he sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Rock of Ages."
Elmer Anderson, Albert Beeck, Arnold Helseth, Dennis Hultgren, Allen VanderHelm, Emil Wilier and Jay Miller were casket bearers. Interment was in the Riverside cemetery at Akron.
