Services held for Leona Nagle
Funeral services for Leona Nagle were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 1999, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Primghar, Iowa,
with Rev. Gerald Zeman officiating.
The lector was Mary Einck. "Prayer of St. Francis," "Hail Holy Queen," "Ave Maria" and "Let There Be Peace on Earth" were sung by St. Anthony's Church Choir and the congregation. The organist was Judy Sweeney.
The casket bearers were Bill Wagner, Arnie
Charlton, Dale Parry, Joe Stoll, Richard Sauer and Herb Schueller.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery at Primghar, Iowa, under the direction of the Gaudian
Eldridge Funeral Home.
OBITUARY
Leona Nagle, the daughter of Edward and Mayme Holland Hart, was born September 22, 1911, in
Sanborn, Iowa. She graduated from high school in Worthington, Minnesota.
On August 10, 1936, she was united in marriage to Richard C. Nagle in Sanborn. After their marriage the couple settled in Primghar where
the Nagles owned and operated Nagle's Farm Store until their retirement in July of 1978. Dick preceded her in death on October 4, 1985, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
She remained in the family home in Primghar and on September 29, 1995, she entered the Primghar Care Center.
She passed away at the Care Center on
Wednesday, September I, 1999, reaching the age of 87 years, 11 months and 9 days.
She was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Guild of the Church. She had served on the State Care Review Committee for O'Brien County, and had been a member of the
O'Brien County Civil Service Commission.
Leona is survived by one daughter and her
husband, Pat and Dale DeGroot of Prospect, Kentucky; a sister, Mrs. Mary Bower of Sioux
City; two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Georgia Hart of Boulder, Colorado and Mrs. Mildred Nagle of Lombard, Illinois; also nieces and nephews;
and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Wayne.
