Services held for V. J . Cassidy; Lifelong
resident
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 16 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. for Vincent J. Cassidy, 75, who died November 14 at Baum-Harmon Hospital here, after a brief illness..
Rosary was held at 8:00 p.m., November 15 at the Gaudian Funeral Home.
Father LeRoy Seuntjens and Father John Cassidy officiated.
Military services were conducted by Chateau
Thierry Post 36, American Legion.
Pallbearers were Gordon Rosecrans, ClayEdwards,
Bob Greenlee, Herbert Sohuelier, Richard Sauer and John Sheridan.
Chauffeurs were Bob Nicholson and Frank Bordewick.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery with
arrangements in care of Gaudian Funeral Home.
Mr. Cassidy, known to his friends as '^Bid," was a lifelong resident of this community, born
here on May 18, 1896.
For 41 years he operated the Cassidy andHalbach Hardware and Implement
He was a WWI veteran and past commander of the American Legion.
On Oct. 7, he married Irene McAleer. They were the parents of four children, two girls and two boys.
Survivors include his wife Irene; daughters Mrs. Paul (Margaret) Sullivan of Dubuque; Mrs.
Gerald (Barbara Jean) Olson of Austin, Texas; sons, Father John Cassidy of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and Robert of Aurora Colo.; sister, Mrs. Loretta- Halbach of Primghar and 14 grandchildren
