Mrs. John Cassidy Passes Away
After Years of Illness
Buried Today
A large number of relatives and friends paid a final tribute of love and respect for Mrs. John Cassidy at services held this morning at St.
Anthony's church. Mrs. Cassidy Monday afternoon following many years of illness.
A resident of the community for nearly a half century, Mrs. Cassidy was known , as a woman of fine, wholesome character, always happy and cheerful. For many years, and until her health failed, she took an active part in church
affairs and mingled among her friends. She was a devoted wife and mother.
For the past sixteen years Mrs. Cassidy has been an invalid. During that time she has been cared for with untiring devotion by her husband and daughter, Mrs. J.H. Halbach, the two families having shared the same home. Her son, Vincent, prominent Primghar business man, has also been faithful in his attention to his mother.
Interment was made in the Calvary cemetery
Margaret Ann Kelly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Kelly, was born November 23, 1859, at Bankston, Dubuque county, Iowa , and passed
away at her home here at 1:30 p.m. March 8,
1937, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 15 days. She was one of a family of four children.
The deceased spent the early years of her life in Dubuque. On October 7th, 1892, she was married to John Cassidy, at which time' she came to O'Brien county and with Mr. Cassidy
lived on their farm in Dale township until the fall of 1919, when they moved to their home in Primghar.
She is survived by her husband and two
children, Vincent, and. Mrs. Joe Halbach, Jr.,
and five, grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Allen Kane and Miss Elizabeth Kelly, and a
brother John of Dubuque, also survive.
Relatives from out of town who were here for the services were Mrs. Mary Fleege and daughter Mae, Miss Anne Glynn and Mrs. Nellie O'Connor, cousins of Mrs. Cassidy of Beresford, South Dakota, Mrs. Frank Cassidy and sons Joe and Leo of Austin, Minnesota; Mrs. Alphonse Murphy of Lyle , Minnesota, and Miss Elizabeth Kelly of Dubuque.
Mrs. Cassidy's other surviving sister and brother are in ill health and were unable to come
