MARY M. MILLER

Mary M. Miller, the daughter of Christ Ebert and Dorothea nee Knicker, was born on September 10, 1896 in Caledonia Township, O'Brien County, Iowa. She was baptized, educated and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John's at Germantown.

In January of 1917 she was united in marriage to John C. Miller. To this union eight children were born. John and Mary farmed in the Cleghorn area for many years and retired to Paullina in 1968.

In 1971 Mary's life was saddened by the loss of her beloved husband John. During the past few years, she has continued to live in Paullina. About three weeks ago she entered the Wide View Rest Home here in Paullina and passed away on Monday, September 4 at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 15 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Vernelle of Sioux City, Clifford of Cleghorn, Leland and Eldon Paullina, Mrs. Mildred Van Dyke of Sioux City, Verlie (Mrs. William) Yockey of Sioux City, Vernice Skaggs of Cleghorn and Vera (Mrs. Henry) Stoltze of Sioux City. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, her brother, Herman Ebert of Primghar, sisters, Mrs. Irene LaMaack of Primghar, Mrs. Hilda Kramer of Chicago, Mrs. Bernadine Crist of Sacramento, California and Evelyn Langholz of Brewster, Minnesota, also to mourn her passing.

Interment in Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, followed memorial services at Zion Lutheran Church Thursday morning, September 7, 1978. The Rev. Donald L. Johnson, pastor, conducted the service. Pallbearers were Richard Miller, Duane Van Dyke, Paul Miller, Jim Miller, Ron Yockey, Randy Yockey, Dennis Skaggs and Tim Stoltze. N.H. Behrens was organist. Arrangements were under the care of Gaudian-Eldridge funeral homes.
