Funeral services for Ray F. Lund were held Wednesday, September 15, 1993, at 11:00 a.m. from St Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon, Iowa. Rev Paul Forde officiated.
The casket bearers were Michael Lund, Michelle Weaver, David Foreman, Tina Bradbury, Krista Foreman, Emily Lund, Brenda Lund, Ryan Weaver and Aaron Bradbury.
Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina, under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home of Sheldon.

OBITUARY

Ray F. Lund, the son of Myers and Emma (Tesch) Lund, was born June 9, 1928, in Paullina, Iowa. He received his education in Paullina schools and graduated from Paullina High School in 1946.

On September 2, 1949, he was united in marriage to Joy Salzkorn at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple farmed west of Paullina for many years. The couple moved to Sheldon in 1982 and Ray retired from farming in 1986. Ray passed away on Monday, September 13, 1993, at his home reaching the age of 65 years, 3 months and 4 days.

He was baptized on July 18. 1928, and later confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland in 1950 and was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon.

Ray leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Joy of Sheldon, three daughters. Lorraine and her husband, Rick Foreman of Alton; LaDonna and her husband, Mark Bradbury of Paullina; and Brenda and her husband, Lenard Schiller of Willmar, Minnesota; one son, Steven and his wife, Mary Jane of Cherokee; also seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; three sisters. Mrs. Florence Hoger and Mrs. Norman (Neva) Ohme, both of Paullina and Mrs. William (Grace) Fjeld of Primghar, also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Edna Pauling.
