Funeral services were held Monday, April 2 at the Bethel Lutheran Church of Sutherland for 82 year old Alfred Amendt. Mr. Amendt was laid to rest in the Waterman Cemetery in Sutherland, Iowa.

Mr. Amendt passed way at Cherokee, Iowa, on March 30, 1979, at the age of 82. Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers and five sisters, one son, Everett, and one grandson, Delmar Jalas.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Minnie; one daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and August Jalas of Storm Lake; three sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Rosali of Spirit Lake, Leonard and Maurine of Sutherland, and Wendell and Sherry of Spencer, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Irene Amendt of Sutherland; twenty grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; one sister, Viola Amendt of Spencer, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Vena) Donahoo of Peterson, and many friends.
