Death of Bruene Hattermann

Bruene Hattermann was called to his final rest last Monday morning after an Illness of nine months. Mr. Hattermann took sick last October and after receiving medical treatment for a short time he was advised to have an operation performed for the relief of his lungs. Later he heeded the advice of physicians to go to a Sioux City hospital believing that he could be cured without an operation. He remained there for a long time without relief and then came home. His condition grew worse gradually and on Monday morning he passed away and his suffering ended. Interment took place at Prairie View yesterday; the funeral being held at the home at 2 o'clock. Rev. Horn, his pastor, preached the funeral sermon. The writer knew Mr. Hattermann as a jolly, happy, good citizen and one whom it was a pleasure to know. He leaves a family of two children.

Bruene Henry Frederick Hattermann was born February 24, 1872, and died July 30, 1906, aged 34 years, 5 months and 6 days. His birthplace was Ritzenberger, Hanover, Germany. He was the youngest son of John H. Hattermann. Came to America in 1889 and lived in this vicinity with the exception of one year which was spent in Kansas. He was married on May 21, 1899, to Emma Leverenz. Besides the family he leaves a father and brother in Germany, one brother in Oklahoma and his brother Herman in Caledonia Township.
