Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Earl Thompson, who passed away at her home in Cherokee last Saturday morning. The memorial services at the Winston Harris home at Paullina. They were in charge of Rev. John Farnham of Cherokee and Rev. A.A. Howe of Paullina. Services were held in the Appleyard and Boothby Funeral Home at Cherokee. Burial was at the Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina at 6:45 pm.

Myra Raw Thompson, daughter of George and Margaret Simpson Raw, was born at Farley, Iowa, December 15, 1878, and passed this life at her home in Cherokee, Iowa, Saturday, August 13, 1938, at 7:30 am, having reached the age of 59 years, 7 months and 23 days.

In early life, she with her mother and two sisters moved from Farley to Mount Vernon where she finished her education. In 1899 she moved to Paullina, Iowa, where on January 7, 1905, she was united in marriage to J.E. Thomson. This home was graced by the coming of one daughter, Rosalee.

Mrs. Thompson leaves to memory her passing, husband and daughter Rosalee, one brother, George Raw of Glendale, California, one sister, Mrs. Byrde Harris of Tampa, Florida.

Mrs. Thompson was a regular attendant of the Methodist church at Paullina and came when her health would permit to the church at Cherokee. She was a member of the M.E. Priscilla Club, Rebekah, and Eastern Star at Paullina. In Cherokee she was a member of the M.E. Aid and the Christian Aid, as well as the W.R.C.

She was kindly hearted, generous, and sympathetic mother with a lovable disposition, always jolly with a HI for everyone. A loving mother and a real companion in the home to her husband and daughter.
