Memorial services for Beverly J. Tjossem at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2000, at the Gaudian Eldridge Funeral Home, Primghar, Iowa. Arrangements by Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

Beverly Jean Tjossem, the daughter of Alva and Marjorie McIntosh Froehlich, was born January 22, 1938 in Cherokee, Iowa. She attended Cleghorn schools and graduated from Cleghorn High School and went on to attend Morningside College for a year.

On February 10, 1957, she was united in marriage to Wendell Tjossem in Cleghorn, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple made their home in the Gaza, Iowa, area, where she was employed by O'Brien County Home Health Aid before being a cook at the Baum-Harmon Hospital and Dinner Date in Primghar for 11 years. She retired in May of 1997 because of her having a stroke. For 43 years she helped her husband on the family farm near Gaza.

She was a member of the Gaza Community Church, which she served as secretary, also an active member of the Gaza Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, knitting, dancing and wintering in Texas.

She passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2000, at the Saint Anthony Hospital in Denver, Colorado after a heart attack while in Colorado attending a family reunion.

Beverly is survived by her husband Wendell of rural Primghar; three daughters, Wendy Klatt of Sac City, Iowa, Candy and her husband, Jeff Roberts of Gaza, Iowa and Michelle and her husband Mark Freeman of Storm Lake, Iowa; also eight grandchildren; her mother and step-father, Marjorie and Melvin Treptow of Pierson, Iowa; three sisters and their husbands, Darlene and Robert Miller of Sioux City, Kathy and Ron Abels of Saint Louis, Missouri, and Marcia and Ladd Huffman of Calumet; also nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
