The family of Almon E. CROSBY (1851-1886) & his wife, Sarah Caroline (TURNER) CROSBY (1848-1912), was enumerated in Albia City, Troy Twp., in the 1880 & 1900 Censuses. Almon & Sarah were interred in Oakview Cemetery, Troy Twp. Their six children included Girtie Ellis CROSBY b. 1873, m. Daniel D. STEWART (1869-1900), 1890; Maude E. CROSBY b. 1878, m. George L. STACY (1878-????), 1901; May L. CROSBY b. 1880, no further record; Fred C., L., or T. CROSBY b. 1883, m. Val/Vae L. ??? (1891-1985), 1923, d. 1945; Ethel C. or E. CROSBY b. 1884, no further record; and Jennie/Genevie B. CROSBY b. 1887, m. Thomas J. HUSTON (1885-????), 1906.
Daniel & Girtie (CROSBY) STEWART had four children: Eva STEWART b. 1892; Stella STEWART b. 1894; Daniel E. (Dan) STEWART b. 1897, m. Roxana ???, 1921; and Lelia STEWART b. 1899.
Fred & Val/Vae L. CROSBY had one daughter, Sallie Bob CROSBY b. 1924.
Is there anyone out there who can help me locate descendants of this family? Val/Vae L. CROSBY died on May 24, 1985, and was interred in Oakview Cemetery. Perhaps her obituary would shed some light on the family.
