Edward Mitchell Bill

We have information that Edward Mitchell Bill served in the Iowa State Senate and that he was Supt. of Schools in Monroe County. Is there anyone who can verify this information for us? The years would be 1845-1870. He married Esther Alice Sylvester in 1847 in Monroe Co.
You volunteers in Iowa are amazing.....and we will appreciate any help you can muster!
