In response to your quest for information on Roy L. Day, I have the following information from the gravestone:

Roy L. Day, born 1878, died 1913, buried Mt. Calvery Cemetery, Melrose, IA. Also buried in the same plot, Mary F. Day, born 1886, died 1948. I understand that he was the Postmaster at Melrose. There is a Leo M. Day buried next to the Roy Day plot. Leo Day was born 1913 and died 1913.

There was also a Roy Day that ran a grocery store in Melrose when I was growing up in the 1940's.
