JOHANNAH C. WINNEKE JoHannah Caroline Winneke, daughter of Robert and Anna Pedersen was born October 23, 1889, at Battle Creek, Iowa, and died Wednesday, July 29, 1964, at a Sioux City hospital following a long illness. She was 74 years, 9 months, and 6 days old.

Mrs. Winneke moved with her parents to Ida Grove in 1909. Shortly after she attended a course in Millinery. Previous to and six years after marriage she operated a Millinery store at Charter Oak, Iowa. She and her husband then moved to a farm near Castana where they resided and farmed for five years. In 1922 they came to Mapleton where she made her home for the remainder of her life, however, she had been staying at a nursing home in Sloan since the death of her husband.

JoHannah was married to Theodore Winneke on December 15, 1915, at Ida Grove. This union was blessed with one daughter and two sons. Mrs. Winneke was a member of the Methodist church at Mapleton, a longtime member of the Rebekah Lodge No. 212 Maple Valley, of the Royal Neighbors of America, and of the American Legion Auxiliary all of Mapleton.

Survivors include one daughter: Mrs. Earl (Irene) Riley of Rodney; two sons: Raymond of Sioux City; and Harold of Tustin, California; seven grandchildren.
