2 June 2021Dorothy E. Bearce, 85, of Whiting, Iowa passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Whiting City Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa with Chris Jensen officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.
Dorothy Ellen (Collett) Bearce arrived September 3, 1935 the fourth daughter born to Harry and Ella Collett.
She married Easton Bearce on January 12, 1954 and two children were born, Kathleen Dawn and Nancy Kaye. She claimed to be a domestic engineer and proud of that fact.
Dorothy enjoyed going to the casino with her sisters, family gatherings, and traveling. Two summers ago, she traveled to ten states in two weeks and loved every minute of it. She was famous for her loose meats, chocolate chip cookies, cream puffs, and ribbon sandwiches.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy; two grandchildren, Krista (Mike Huff) Fleming and Bryan (Angie) Fleming; five great-grandchildren, Auston Huff, Nathan Huff, Bryan John Fleming, Braxton Woodson, and Braylon Woodson; sister, Betty Harms; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Easton Bearce; her parents, Harry and Ella Collett; her daughter, Kathleen; brother, Donald; sisters, Marie (Charles) Ping, and Joanne (Gale) Brenden; and her brother-in-law, Bob Harms.
