Edith Marie (Gibbs) Kruger, age 92, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2020.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021, in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa. Pastor Nathan Peitsch will officiate. The Armstrong-Van Houten Funeral Home of Ute, Iowa, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Edith Marie (Gibbs) Kruger was born on February 19, 1928, the first child of Cyril Basil and Laura Gibbs of Soldier, Iowa. Edith’s mother died when she was very young. Her father remarried and Rose Gibbs became her well-loved stepmother who raised Edith and her younger siblings, Raymond and Ruby. Rose gave birth to the youngest sister, Marilyn. Ruby Larson of Omaha, Nebraska is the sole surviving sibling.

Edith married Ronald Dean Kruger on March 15, 1948. They had five children: Jeffrey (Cindy) Kruger, Carolyn Kruger, Stephen (Trish Kisor) Kruger, Lynn Marie Kruger and Kathleen (Steve) Hupperts. They were blessed with 10 grandchildren: Jean, Dan, Galen, Terra, Kristi, Katie, Kelley, Ryan, Laura, Adam; and many great-grandchildren.

Edith loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sister and friends, her job at Wally McCarthy Oldsmobile and every holiday. She made the holidays magical for her family. Edith was well loved and will be missed by all of us!

Edith was preceded in death by her parents Basil and Rose Gibbs; her mother Laura Gibbs; daughter Lynn Marie Kruger; sister Marilyn; and brother Raymond.
