Word was Received From the Government by the Parents Last Saturday. He Entered the Service in 1941.

Blencoe received her second casualty from World War II on last Saturday, when Western union telegraph Agent Ford J. Bigelow copied the following message:

Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hime, Blencoe, Iowa, regret to inform you that your son, George Milton Hime was killed in Action in the North America area on May 29.

The message came a short time after the parents had received word from another son Samuel Hime in the armed forces in Africa that he had successfully come through two battles and was recovering from a broken arm which he had suffered in a tank accident.

PFC George Milton Hime had left the United States for training area for foreign duty May 1. He had entered the service on September 1, 1941 in California. Before his induction, he had been employed at Redmond, Oregon.

Milton, as he was more and better known to his Blencoe friends, was born August 17, 1914. He grew up to young manhood in the Blencoe Vicinity. At the time of death, he was 28 years 9 months and 12 days old. Besides his parents, his brother, Sammy in Africa; three sisters Mrs. Isaac Walker, Mrs. Troy South and Mrs. George Baker, survive.

Memorial services will be held on June 27th at Blencoe under the auspices of David McNeil Post No.129, American Legion - and Auxiliary. G. M. (Smoke) Brown of Whiting, past state commander of the Legion will be the eulogist.
