"In the name of God, Amen:
I, John W. Burroughs, of the town of St. Ansgar, in the County of Mitchell and State of Iowa, of the age of Forty-one (41) years, and being of sound mind do make, publish and declare this my
last will and Testament in manner following, to-wit:

I give and bequeath to my sister Mary Louise Burroughs all of my real Estate described as follows, to-wit:
The East half of the South West quarter of Section Eight (8), and the North West Fourth of the South West quarter of said Section Eight (8),
all in Township Ninety Nine (99) North of Range Seventeen (17) West in the aforesaid County of
Mitchell, Iowa, also two and one half acres of Timber land lying in Township Ninety-Nine (99) North of Range Eighteen (18) West as shown by my title deeds of the same. I also give and bequeath to my said sister Mary Louisa Burroughs all of my personal property. The above described
Real Estate is subject to a life lease for the use and benefit of my mother Sally Burroughs and the said Mary Louisa Burroughs is to use any personal property to support my Mother if the rents and avils of said Real Estate under said lease are not sufficient therefor and in case the said Mary Louisa Burroughs should die before my mother, then it is my wish that all of my property above described and bequeathed to my mother the said Sally Burroughs.

I hereby appoint my said sister Mary Louise
Burroughs sole executrix of this my last will.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 16th day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred Seventy.
