THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
OF ROSWELL GEORGE.
Filed, Feb. 1, 1858.
Will Record No.1 Page 2.

In the name of God, Amen: I Roswell George of Mitchell county, state of Iowa, of forty nine years of age, and a sound mind do hereby make and declare this my last Will and Testament as follows, to-wit:

First, I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth George a life support from and use of the following described premises, to-wit:
The North East forth (¼ ) of section nine (9) in Township ninety-eight (98) Range sixteen West of the 5th Principal Meridian; and also the South West fourth (SW ¼ ) of the South East fourth (¼ ) same Township & Range, excepting out of the same so much as has been laid out in the Town Plat of Leo; and also excepting four acres heretofore sold to Harry Davis and one acre sold to Andrew J. Davis.
And at the death of my said wife I hereby give and bequeath the above described premises to my children then living or their heirs at law, to be divided equally, taking into account any and all amounts they or each or any of them may therebefore have received, in said division.

Second. I hereby give and bequeath to my youngest son, Charles E. George, a good and reasonable support until he shall become of age, and of said estate, and also the means necessary to acquire a good common School education.
When said youngest son becomes of age he shall share equally with my other children.
I hereby make Elisabeth George and Isaac B. Parker the executors of this my last Will and Testament and direct them to dispose of the property hereinbefore mentioned only as here directed.

I hereby direct my said wife to have & continue the guardianship of my above named youngest son till he shall become of age.

I hereby direct the above named executors to receive all moneys arising from the sale of all property in Racine, Wisconsin, hereafter to become due, and dispose of the same in paying for the before named premises,& in no other way till said premises are paid for; provided the title which I have & may acquire shall prove
good and sufficient in law.

I hereby direct said Executors to dispose of enough of my personal property to pay all personal demands against me at my decease, after having first collected all personal claims & so disposed of them; and if thereafter
there is more personal property left that is actually demanded to carry on the above named premises, I hereby direct said executors to dispose of the same, as soon thereafter as can be done to advantage, so that it shall
accrue to the advantage & profit of my children before referred to and named as follows: Jehiel A. George; Margaret Ann Powers; Milo C. George; Melissa J. Jones; Christian Gilchrist and Charles E. George.
At all times following the intent expressed and hereinbefore.
I direct said Executors to collect all claims I may have against any & all persons & to pay all debts as herein directed.
In Witness Whereof, I, Roswell George the Testator have to this my Will written on one sheet of paper, set my and Seal this twenty third day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven.
