Five Mitchell high school students are in the Nissen hospital at Osage today as the result of an accident which occurred about midnight last evening one mile east of Mitchell when the car driven by Junior Parkhurst, crashed into a bridge. The group was returning from a party at the roller skating rink at Orchard, Iowa.
Dorothy Hungerford, daughter of Supt. A. L. Hungerford, was very seriously injured, having suffered a broken back. Little hope is held for her recovery. Eva and Melvin Jensen, children of the Martin Jensen's living west of Mitchell had not gained consciousness at 9 o'clock this morning.
Bobby Cordes, son of Mr. & Mrs. Walter Cordes, has a broken arm and other superficial injuries and Jr. Parkhurst, son of George Parkhurst, Mitchell Savings Bank cashier, was injured about the mouth. James Vastrow, who escaped injury is the son of Mrs. Albert Vastrow.
The car in which they were riding belongs to Walter Cordes.
