LAWN brothers, lynched 1867

LAWN

Hi,

I recently learned that two relatives of one of my ancestors were lynched in Mills, Co. Iowa on June 14th 1867. They were two brothers, William and Patrick Lawn. I think they lived in Glennwood, with their family. Not long after this, it seems the family moved to Colorado (probably not a bad idea, considering the circumstances :)

Anybody know if there are local newspapers from around that period available anywhere? I'd be interested in learning more, and maybe getting some copies of news articles covering the story.

I got this info from "The Iowa Jorunal of History and Politics" c.1912 pages 222-223 on googlebooks.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Chas
