Patty was born On March 2, 1969 in Iowa City to David and Sandy (Roland) Wright.

Patty was raised in Melcher-Dallas by her parents Jerry and Sandy Goemaat.

She was a graduate of Melcher-Dallas High School, class of 1987. She received her Associates Degree from Indian Hills Community College and then received her license to practice cosmetology from the Iowa School of Beauty.

She married Doug Parks on March 31, 1990 at the New Hope Methodist Church in Melcher-Dallas, and was blessed with two children: Abby and Joshua.

Patty was a Beautician, and also worked various other jobs including; babysitting, Casey's, Pella Corp, and Mercy Hilltop Medical Center. Most importantly she was a great wife and mother. She had a great sense of humor, quick witted, and always made people laugh. She enjoyed helping people and made many close friends. Patty enjoyed children, flower gardens, and collected bears and Santas.

Patty passed away July 22, 2009 at her home.

She was preceded in death by grandparents: Lloyd Wright and Mary & Everett Roland; and brothers-in-law Gearold Parks Jr. and Randy Parks.

Patty is survived by her husband Doug; children: Abby and Joshua; parents: Sandy & Jerry Goemaat all of Melcher-Dallas, father David L. Wright of Oskaloosa; grandmother Hazel Wright; siblings: Julie (Kelvin) Schultz, Jerry W. Goemaat, Tina (Leo) Wadle, David Wright, Bruce (Helen) Goemaat, Erin (Jeremy) Gravett, and Rachel (Mike) Cecil; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
