Sarah was born May 2, 1922 in Melcher, Iowa to Cary and Edna (Branson) Brown.

She married Francis Lehigh on August 31, 1940.

Sarah was known very well as a faithful individual, rarely ever missing church services. She was very active in the church and even helped build the church in Melcher. Sarah was a great cook, loved raising her children, and enjoyed spending time with her entire family.

Sarah passed away at Knoxville Hospital and Clinics in Knoxville, Iowa on August 17, 2009.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 1981; her parents; siblings: Doyle Brown, Deloris Martin, and an infant daughter; and one infant great grandchild.

Sarah is survived by her five children; Helen (George) Greene and Elaine Teas both of Melcher,
Teddy Lehigh of Rose Hill, Rose (Don) Talley of Altoona, and Diana (Chris) DeMoss of Pella; nine
grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Branson; one sister, Theola Faye Cooper; and one sister-in-law, Nalta Brown.
