Jimmie was born February 16, 1958 in Iowa City to Earl and Grace Marie Lankford.

He attended Pleasantville Schools and worked in general construction as a carpenter.

He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and he liked to hunt, fish, and hunt mushrooms.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sisters Nancy June and Mary Jane.

Jimmie is survived by siblings: Lyle (Judy) Lankford of Perry, Anna (Bill) Minard of Knoxville, Linda Graham of Knoxville, Donna (Kermit) Bowers of Melcher-Dallas,Paul (Betty) Lankford of Melcher-Dallas, David (Virginia) Lankford of Council Bluffs,
and Dennis (Tammy) Lankford of Biloxi, MS. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
