Phyllis Elaine Boll, 94, of Melcher Dallas passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dallas Christian Church. Visitation will also be Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Sandyville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dallas Christian Church.

Phyllis was born on November 18, 1914 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Archie Ray and Estella (Smith) Morris. Her grandparents, Robert and Flora Morris raised her on their farm in Warren County.

She married Frederick William Kirkpatrick in Montezuma, Iowa on May 8, 1930. To this union four children were born. Frederick passed away on January 1, 1958.

She later married Charlie Lindsay in 1961, and he passed away in September of 1978.

She then married Anthony Harlan Boll on August 9, 1979. They made their home near Columbia, Iowa till they retired and moved to Melcher, IA. in 1994. He passed away on August 7, 2002.

Phyllis worked many jobs throughout her life. She had been a homemaker, and a farmer her entire life. While married to Frederick she had been a welder during the World War II era. She later worked for Whitaker Drug in Des Moines, and later in life was a nurse's aid at the Chariton Hospital. She was also the first activities director at Griffins Nursing Home in Knoxville. She enjoyed cooking, music, quilting, gardening, and she truly loved her family. She was a member of the Eastern Stars, Lions Club, and Dallas Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Robert and Flora Morris; her parents, Archie and Estella Morris; her three husbands, and two grandsons, Fred and Ed Kirkpatrick.

Phyllis leaves to mourn her passing, four children, Bill (Louise) Kirkpatrick of Indianola, Jim (Barbara) Kirkpatrick of Des Moines, Janis Summers of Lovilia, and George (Mary) Kirkpatrick of Des Moines. Three step sisters, Virginia, Charlene, and Linda, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren also survive Phyllis.
