Weise, Blanche E. (Freerkson) 1927-2009

Blanche Elinor Stanton-Weise was born September 10, 1927 in Iowa Falls, Iowa the daughter of William Freerkson and Hazel V. (Beebout) Freerkson.

She was raised in the Eldora and Garwin areas. As a young woman, Blanche worked at an ordinance plant in St. Louis for three years.

In 1946 she was united in marriage to Rex Athy Stanton in Marshalltown. She lived most of her adult life in Knoxville with the exception of living in Milo and Pleasantville for a few years. Blanche worked as a CNA for 40 years. Through the years, she had worked for the Pella Nursing Home, Pleasant Care Living Center, West Ridge, Griffin’s and the Knoxville Rest Home.

In her spare time, Blanche enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Seniorettes. She also enjoyed collecting lighthouses. She will be remembered as a warm-hearted, compassionate and vivacious lady.

Blanche passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 21 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Ronald and Craig Stanton; her brother, Alden Keller and a sister, June Loynachan.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Cheryl Robinson, Darrel (Elaine) Stanton, Mark Stanton and Kim Stanton all of Knoxville; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Allene Deitrick of Waterloo and Terri Chambers of Knoxville and many other family members and friends.
