Roger Francis Wathier was born May 6, 1934 in La Motte, Iowa, the son of Waldo L. Wathier and Martha (Pitz) Wathier.

He was raised in La Motte and worked on the family farm for many years. Roger served in the United States Army for two years.

He was united in marriage to his wife Ruth. Roger lived in Chariton for several years until moving to Pleasantville in the early 90’s.

Roger had worked at the Coke Warehouse in Des Moines prior to retirement.

Roger passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009 at his home in Pleasantville at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 21 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Ruth.

He is survived by his brothers, Orlyn Wathier of Cedar Falls, Nick Wathier of Arvada, CO; sisters, Shirley Small of, Maquoketa and Velma Kilburg of Bellevue.

Burial: Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, IA
