Audrey Ann Nead was born December 13, 1929 in Norwood, MA, the daughter of Carroll Nead and Nadine (Gustavason) Nead.

She grew up and graduated high school in Norwood. Audrey then continued her education at Colby Jr. College and also at Gordon College.

On September 1, 1956 she was united in marriage to Robert C. Smith in Norwood, MA. Bob and Audrey moved around, living in Maine, Massachusetts, Illinois, and Grinnell, Iowa, until moving to Knoxville in 1986.

Audrey was a member of the First Baptist Church and also had served as the church secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Helping Hands Treasurer, and a Missions Board Member. She was a devout Christian and was devoted to her husband, family and church community.

Audrey passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at her home at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 20 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Nead.

Audrey is survived by her husband, Pastor Bob Smith; children, Deborah (Will) Roberts of Franklin, KY, Paul (Karen) Smith of Alton, IL, Cindy (Brad) Wissink of Ames, Kathy (John) Neal of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren, along with other relatives and many friends.

Burial: Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, IA
