Frances Marie Hansen Bousquet was born, December 28, 1914, to F. Edward and Edith P. Hansen in Audubon, Iowa. She was baptized in the Audubon Presbyterian Church where the minister gave her the name of Frances Mary Hansen. She no longer used the Marie, but Mary for the rest of her life. She lived on a farm just north of Ross, Iowa, with her parents, a brother, John E. Hansen who preceded her in death in 1973, and a sister, Clara L. Hansen Christie, who lives in Oceanside, California. She grew up on the Audubon farm.

Frances then attended Audubon High School graduating, May 25, 1934 with her brother, John Hansen and a cousin, Donis Hansen, also in the same class. Following graduation Frances moved to Council Bluffs to attend Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing graduating, June 1, 1938.

Surviving Frances are four of her children, Joseph and wife Peggy of Pleasantville, Iowa, Nancy and husband Charles Monk of Greendale, Wisconsin, John and wife Sharon of Divide, Colorado, and William of Anchorage, Alaska. Her grandchildren, Pam and husband Wayne Joynt, Sharon and husband Douglas Luedtke, Jacinda and husband, Steve Schafer, Brandon, Joel Swetish and wife Rowena, Laurel and husband William Sormrude, Anne Bousquet, Rebecca Bousquet and Shelley Johnson.

One grandchild, Estee Bousquet preceded her in death in 1998.

Frances has eleven great-grandchildren. They are Tyler, Richard, Brian, and Amanda Joynt, Jocelyn and Bradly Six, Kala, Sara, and Cory Schafer, and Tea Swetish, Tate Sormrude, Tierney Jane Sormrude, and Alise Cedor. She has two great-great grandchildren Paige Kingery and Emalee Joynt. She is also survived by a sister, Clara Christie of Oceanside, California, a cousin, Eethel Johnson and husband Everett of Lake Ridge, Virginia, sister-in-law, Dorothy Hansen of Audubon, Iowa, sister and brother-in-law Catharine and Dayl Evans, of Des Moines, Iowa.
