Beulah Irene Bickford was born November 16, 1920 in Harvey, Iowa the daughter of Jacob Beaver and Susan (DeFore) Beaver.

She attended country schools in the Harvey area. She was married to Jack Hartness and the couple farmed. Jack died in 1970 and she later married Orville Bickford who died in 2003. Beulah lived in Marion County most of her life and was a homemaker and farm wife. She was an avid reader and always kept up on current events.

Beulah passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 88 years and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; several brothers and sisters and a son-in-law, Robert Eggers.

Those left to honor her memory include four daughters: Barbara (Eldon) Brown of Arnold’s Park, Iowa, Loretta (Richard) Whitlatch of Knoxville, Sharon (Dennis) Ripperger of Indianola and Connie (Frank) Pearson of Altoona, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Vera Beaver of Knoxville and many other family members and friends.
